For more than 10+ years Epson Vision Systems have been used to allow Epson Robots to see. Our Vision Guide software leads the industry in ease of use with a point and click development environment filled with high performance vision tools. From simplistic to extremely advanced applications, Vision Guide was built to reduce development time without giving up performance.

With a 2 tiered product offering, Epson Vision Guide software runs on both our PC based high performance vision solutions as well as on our value priced Epson CV1 Vision System. We give you the Power of Choice to select the right system for your application.

PC Vision Guidance PC Vision (Frame Grabber and Camera) Our PC based vision guide solutions have a variety of hardware configurations providing users with the right tools for the job. With support for up to 16 monochrome cameras, to color vision to vision based conveyor tracking, we have the right vision solution for your next application. (For RC620+ Controllers)
CV1 Vision Guidance CV1 Vision While easy to learn and use, Epson CV1 Vision Systems reduce overall development time while providing powerful Vision Tools to solve complex vision applications. And with the EPSON CV1 you get all this and more at a value price. (For RC90, RC180 and RC620+ Controllers)
CV2 Vision Guidance CV2 Vision System Epson CV2 Vision Systems are the high performance "Vision Guide" vision solutions from Epson Robots. At up to 8x the speed of our CV1 Vision Systems, Epson CV2's go to the next level of high performance vision solutions while still providing all the power and ease of use of Epson Vision Guide. Supports up to 4 GigE and 2 USB 2.0 Cameras. (For RC90 and RC700x Controllers)


Fieldbus I/O is used in factories worldwide to reduce cabling costs, setup time, and promote standard device usage. However, there is not 1 accepted Fieldbus I/O standard. The more commonly used Fieldbus I/O standards are: DeviceNet, Profibus, EtherNet/IP and CC-Link. The EPSON RC620+, RC180 and RC90 Controllers support support all 4 of these Fieldbus I/O options.

Fieldbus Options Fieldbus I/O Logos Support for EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, and Profibus in Master configuration. Support for EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT, DeviceNet, Profibus, ProfiNet and CC-Link fieldbus systems in slave configurations.

Software Options

Epson provides integrated software options to help developers and users reduce the time it takes to build their systems. Powerful user interface tools such as GUI Builder, application specific tools such as integrated force sensing, and connectivity tools such as VB Guide which allow control from Visual Basic, C#, or LabView and many more options are all available for use with Epson RC+. .NET Support VB Guide Sample Screen Program your robot using familiar 3rd party .NET compliant tools and programming environments such as Microsoft Visual Studio (C/C++, C#, VB, etc), Labview and more. Full support for 400+ commands from the SPEL+ language library as well as events, EPSON RC+ components, and many other capabilities.
GUI Builder GUI Builder Sample Form - Cycle Status Want to build your own Operator GUI? GUI Builder provides a point and click interface for building a GUI directly from within the Epson RC+ development environment. It doesn't get much easier than this.
Security Option Security Group Want your code to be protected from operators or others on the factory floor? Would you like an audit log that shows who made changes and when they were made? Then the Security Option is for you.

Expansion I/O

Epson Robots come standard with lots of I/O. However, many applications require additional I/O for interfacing with peripheral workcell equipment such as conveyors, grippers, tooling, etc. For this reason we offer additional I/O boards which are easily installed and used.

RC620+ Expansion I/O   While 40 I/O points come standard with each RC620+ controller, up to 4 additional I/O boards can be installed to an RC620+ controller. With 32/32 I/O points per additional I/O board that's over 256 additional I/O available for use with the RC620+ controller.
RC180 Expansion I/O   RC180 Controllers come standard with 40 I/O points. However, there are times when additional I/O points are required. The RC180 controller allows up to 4 additional I/O boards to be installed with 32/32 I/O points per board. That's over 256 additional I/O available for use with the RC180 controller.
RC90 Expansion I/O   While value priced the RC90 controller comes with 40 I/O points standard just like the RC180 and RC620+ controllers. Up to 2 expansion I/O boards with 24 inputs and 16 outputs each can be installed in an RC180 controller making for 80 total additional I/O as an option.

Other Options

Epson has a variety of additional options such as Conveyor Tracking, Teach Pendants, Tool Adapters, Terminal Blocks and much more. We will be adding more options to this section very soon.

Teach Pendant (TP1) Teach Pendant (TP1) While the Epson RC+ development environment provides an excellent Jog and Teach screen, some customers still like to use our Teach Pendants. Sold as an option, the Teach Pendant (TP1) is especially popular with 6-axis users.
Teach Pendant (TP3) TP3 Slant View The Epson TP3 is the newest in our family of Teach Pendants with a full color touch screen interface, 3D robot viewing and much more. The Epson TP3 works with the RC700A controller.
Conveyor Tracking Conveyor Tracking Both sensor and vision based conveyor tracking is supported with the Epson Conveyor Tracking option. Wizards are used to help reduce setup time and full integration with Epson Vision Guide makes conveyor tracking easy to use.
Tool Adapters (Coupler and Flange) Tool Adapter Coupler and Flange Epson Tool Adapters are available for most Epson Robots to allow for quick and easy attachment of tooling to the end of the arm. Tool Adapters have a coupler that attaches to the Z Axis quill and a flange with pre-tapped holes for tooling attachment.
